Are you ready to get in shape? The John Glenn weight room is open for you to use Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday right after school. Its open to all John Glenn students!
Are you interested in learning other cultures? Do you have friends with different backgrounds? John Glenn students have a wonderful opportunity in February! John Glenn will be hosting a group of French students from a French High School for 2 weeks. We are still in need to host 7 more French exchange students. If you are interested see Mrs. Manohar for further information!

Free Tutoring Thursday nights 6:30-8:30. Student ID required!! It must be a current John Glenn ID. Students without the appropriate ID card will be turned away
2016-17 JG Athletic News
This is a reminder for all students who want to participate on a John Glenn athletic team during the 2016-17 school year. Students and parents must complete the online athletic registration and turn in an athletic physical form before you will be allowed to tryout or practice with any team. The athletic registration information is available on the athletic website at johnglennrockets.com. Both student and parents must complete parts of the registration. Athletic physical forms are available in the main office and in the athletic registration tab of johnglennrockets.com. Completed forms must be turned in to the main office.

Anti Bullying Club
We will be meeting selected Wednesdays from 2 – 3:00 in room 123. Come make JGHS a better place.
Fishing for Friends in Faith (4F Club)
Will be holding its meetings in Room 192 from 2:30-3:00 on Every Wednesday. Come join us and learn new things, make new friends, or just come by to see what the club is all about.
To enrich French students of the French language and culture, to allow other students and staff to gain an increase awareness of our French program. We meet every Monday 2:10 - 3:00 in room 129 (some days are longer due to longer activities).
Interested in learning how to play chess? Already know how but need someone to play against? Come and join the newly formed Chess Club. We meet every Monday from 2-3pm in room 121. It will sometime in January 2017.
Are you a leader? Do you enjoy serving your community & helping others? The Interact Club is for you. We will work closely with Westland Rotary and complete community service projects. If you would like to be a part of this great organization, see Mrs. Johnson in room 176.
John Glenn History Club
To provide extra opportunities for students to engage in the study of history. Students can come involved in historical competitions, such as National History Day and collaborate on historical projects. We meet every second and fourth Thursday of every month in Mrs. Anderson room. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Anderson.
Have you completed fafsa yet? If not, this is a great tome to get it done. Completing and submitting fafsa is free and quick, and gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school! To fill it out go to fafsa.ed.gov to get started. If you have any questions contact Ms. Molett in the counseling ofice.
Representatives from several colleges and universities will be visiting JG throughout the next few months. This year we would like you to choose only 4 college rep visits to attend and to sign up through your counselor.
If your interested in a teaching degree then Eastern Michigan may be the college for you. Eastern pathways programs for teachers offers several scholarship opportunities for education majors with a 3.0 high school gpa. For more information see Mr. Thomas in the Counseling office.
Seniors with a 3.0 or higher cumulative gpa. The 2017 John Glenn local scholarship application is now available in the counseling office. Seniors qualifiying need to fill out a short form with their email address included and the local scholarship application will be sent to you for completion. Deadline is January 27, 2017
The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is now available at www.jackierobinson.org. The deadline is February 15, 2017
The New Metropolitan Detroit Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc is currently offering high school senior scholarships to June 2017 graduates. requirements are a 3.0 cumulative gpa and enrollment in an accredited college or university by fall of 2017. Applications available in the counseling office. Due date is February 17, 2017.
The 2017 Michigan Education Association Scholarship is now available in the counseling office. If you will be attending a Michigan public community/Junior college, 4-year degree-granting institution that grants a degree, certification, or license then this scholarship may be for you. Deadline is February 23, 2017
The 2017 NFL Alumni student athlete scholarship application is now available in th counseling office. Deadline is February 24, 2017.
The Stefen Wanczyk Foundation will be providing $2,000 scholarships to hard-working high school seniors with a 2.5 GPA or higher demonstrating financial need. Applications are now available in the counseling office. Deadline is May 31, 2017.
