Welcome to Wayne-Westland Community Schools!
Great Futures Start Right Here because Wayne-Westland Community Schools promote high expectations for success while providing students with a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Our mission is to help students develop the knowledge, skills and core values they need to succeed in a global marketplace.
We recognize students are successful when they have highly qualified educators in front of them and strong parental support besides them. The partnership among students, parents, and WWCS cannot be understated.
Our highly qualified, award-winning and dedicated staff, in cooperation with our businesses and community organizations, helps to assure every student in WWCS receives a high-quality education and jump-start on career and college readiness.
The Wayne-Westland Community Schools has an early childhood center that serves children from birth to age five, eleven elementary schools (K-5), two upper elementary schools (6), two middle schools (7-8), two high schools (9-12), an alternative education high school and an ultra-modern facility for career-technical training.
The district offers Talented and Gifted programs (TAG) for K-6 grade students which focuses on project-based learning. Advanced classes are available for 7-12 grade students. Our middle school students can earn high school credits and our high school students can earn direct college credit for free.
We also have a virtual high school called Great Futures online which offers one-to-one teacher communication and a flexible schedule for students to complete their high school courses online.
Our students are award-winning, JROTC, DECA, and Ethics Team State Champions.
WWCS has free sports programs, state-of-the-art sports complexes, and several district sports titles.
Fine arts classes include band, choir, orchestra, drama and visual arts. Our high school marching bands have won many first-place awards and many of our choir and instrumental music students qualify for state Solo and Ensemble.
