On Monday, May 20, 2019 William D. Ford Career-Technical Center held the first "Skilled-Trained-Ready" luncheon for students who are currently employed and deciding on what their future holds, be it working or continuing their education. We celebrated those students who are going into work this summer after either graduating or finishing 1 year of their Career-Tech class (we had a handful of juniors). Most of them have committed to working full time this summer.
Also invited were Hillary and Garrett Stone from ReMax to the Luncheon. They are donating money to Career-Tech that is earmarked for students that need items for their jobs. It is a great collaborative event that will benefit the students as well as employers. Thank you Hillary and Garret and ReMax for joining our efforts.
Thank you to Mrs. Bobowski and Mrs. Bigelow for all of your hard work. Also, thank you to Dr. Holt, Dr. Townsel, Mrs. Dybus, Ms. Mitter, and Dr. LaDuke for your support.
The Stevenson Middle School staff opened the doors and rolled out the hot dogs and Kona Ice Truck to welcome the current 6th-grade students who will attend Stevenson Middle School next year. The students and their families were treated to dinner, had a chance to visit with representatives from the extracurricular activities available and listened to Principal Kim Doman talk about what to expect as seventh graders.
