On May 18, 2020, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order No. 2020-91, which implements safeguards to prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) amongst workers as in-person work and activities gradually resume. The Wayne-Westland Community School District has developed this Preparedness and Response Plan in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Recommendations.
These recommendations can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
The Wayne-Westland Community School District aims to protect its workforce by enacting all appropriate prevention efforts. The District is continually monitoring guidance from local, State, and Federal health officials and implementing workplace and plan modifications where appropriate. Employees with questions are encouraged to contact the Human Resources Department via phone at (734) 419-2032 and/or email at email@example.com.

Monday, May 11, 2020, was the groundbreaking ceremony on the District’s first Bond construction project. The William D. Ford Career-Technical Center will be under construction through fall 2020. There will be a new front entrance that includes a main office addition with secure entry. An expansion to the Culinary Arts area includes a total kitchen remodel and banquet center. In addition, there will be updates throughout the entire building.
Voters in Wayne-Westland passed a $158 million bond in November 2018 to implement improvements at each of the District's schools. The improvements will address safety, security, health, energy efficiency, accessibility, and technology issues.
WWCS thanks all of our wonderful volunteers who have been helping us to prepare and distribute over 100,000 meals during the Covid19 State Mandated School Closure. Our volunteers have shown up in force and endured the elements to help with this effort. Together we are #WWCSTRONG!
