Hi Eagles parents!

It’s that time of the year when 6th and 7th grade students will choose which electives they are interested in taking next year. At this time, we are asking parents/guardians to review the Course Description Guide with their student and discuss which electives they are interested in taking next year. Below is the schedule when Counselors will be in classrooms for students to rank their electives in order of preference. Due to a variety of factors, not every elective will be offered at Adams next school year, however, we make every effort to place students in their top elective choices. Schedules are not finalized until late August, so this is the first step in the six month scheduling process.

Congratulations, National History Day Participants and State Finalists!

This past weekend, over 30 students participated in the regional competition for National History Day. Out of that group, Adams Middle School is sending 24 students to the State competition!

The next competition is the State Competition, held at Saginaw Valley University on April 25th, 2026, from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The top two qualifiers in each category will earn the opportunity to represent the state of Michigan against 50 other states and 4 territories at the National Competition in Maryland at the University of Maryland. Last year, we brought home our first National Award Winner, and we are so excited for your child to be the next one!

Parents and Teachers, this achievement could not have happened without your support and encouragement. We truly appreciate all that you do to help our students succeed.

I am excited to share some outstanding news with our Adams community!

This Winter, our students completed the NWEA assessments in Reading, Math, and Science across all grade levels-and the results are truly something to celebrate. At every grade level, in every subject, our achievement percentiles increased. Even more impressive, our student growth continues to stand out on a national level. In both Reading and Science, Adams students are performing in the top half nationally for growth, and in Math, we are just one percentage point away from reaching that same milestone.

These results are not accidental-they are the direct result of a strong, united effort between our students, staff, and families.

First, I want to thank you-our families. Your support with consistent attendance and reducing tardies has made a measurable difference. Our building data shows clear improvement in both areas, and we know that when students are in school, on time, and ready to learn, achievement follows. Quite simply, more time in class equals more opportunity to grow-and your partnership has made that possible.

I also want to recognize our incredible staff. Every day, they go above and beyond to meet the individual needs of our students-differentiating instruction, building relationships, and ensuring that each child feels supported, challenged, and valued. Their dedication is reflected in these results, and we are fortunate to have such a committed team at Adams.

Most importantly, I want to celebrate our students. Their effort, perseverance, and willingness to grow are what truly drive this success. We are proud of the work they are putting in every single day.

While we celebrate this achievement, we also look ahead. Let's continue this momentum by staying focused on what works-strong attendance, on-time arrival, and a shared commitment to learning.

Together, we are building something special at Adams Middle School.

Many students were extremely kind and respectful to each other and the staff!
Students learned the rules and procedures at Adams this week and took to them very well!

Reminder Timely Pickup Required

Hello Parents,

We want to remind everyone that school ends at 2:40 p.m. Recently, we've had an alarming number of students left at school well past dismissal, some until after 4:00 PM. Please make sure arrangements are in place for your child to be picked up or to get home in a timely manner.

Our staff is not available to supervise students after school hours, and we are not equipped to provide after-school care. We appreciate your attention to this matter and your ongoing partnership in ensuring our students' safety.

Just wanted to share what a wild and wonderful week it’s been at Adams! We packed in a ton of big events and the energy has been nonstop.

As we approach Memorial Day weekend, we want to remind you that there will be no school on Friday, May 23, and Monday, May 26, 2025. This gives our students and staff an extended weekend to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Looking ahead, Tuesday, May 27th is our Cedar Point trip day for eligible 8th graders!
Students need to arrive at Adams by 6:45 AM, as the coach bus will be leaving promptly at 7:00 AM. We plan to depart Cedar Point at 7:00 PM and expect to return to Adams around 9:00 PM.

We ask that families please be on time to pick up their children, as all staff and students have school the next morning.

We hope you all have a safe, restful, and meaningful Memorial Day weekend and look forward to an exciting trip on Tuesday!

Ski Masks are Prohibited at School

Dear Families,

We want to inform you that ski masks are prohibited at school. Students have been wearing them on their heads like hats, which has led to disruptions in our building and the learning environment. Unfortunately, this has turned into a game among students, chasing each other, trying to take the masks, and engaging in horseplay that can lead to frustration and conflict.

We ask that all students leave ski masks at home to keep our school environment safe and focused on learning. If a student brings or wears one to school, it will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this expectation at home. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
