A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Sun, 04 Oct 2026 04:00:00 GMT

Dear Schweitzer Families,

Happy October! 🍂🐝 This month, we are focusing on our Leadership Trait of Self-Direct. At school, being Self-Direct means taking responsibility for our choices, attitudes, and actions and making decisions that help ourselves and those around us succeed.

Here are a couple of ways we can Self-Direct:

Make positive choices: When something doesn’t go our way, we can choose to stay positive, look for the good, and find a solution instead of giving up.
Take responsibility: We can be responsible for our actions by following directions, making good choices, and thinking about how our behavior affects others.

Dear Families,

We had a wonderful end to the week with a visit from Basketball Jones on Friday! He brought his high-energy, engaging presentation to Schweitzer, using basketball tricks, humor, and storytelling to teach our students about kindness, having a growth mindset, and overcoming challenges. We especially loved how he incorporated our Leadership Trait of the Month—Empathy and encouraged students to think about how they can show empathy and kindness toward others.
