GETTING READY FOR M-STEP!

M-STEP testing will begin shortly after Spring Break and continue through the end of April. During this time, our 3rd–5th grade students will be participating in the state assessment. We encourage families to help students be prepared by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time each day. We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this year and look forward to cheering them on during testing!

We are excited to welcome our future kindergarten students! Our Kindergarten Round-Up will take place on Friday, March 13th from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM.

This is a great opportunity for families to learn more about our kindergarten program, meet school staff, and begin preparing for an exciting year of learning. We look forward to meeting our incoming students and helping them start their school journey with us.

If you know a family with a child who will be entering kindergarten, please feel free to share this information with them.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: STUDENT DROP-OFF SAFETY

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to address an important safety concern we've noticed during morning arrival. Recently, several students have been dropped off before 8:50 a.m. without an adult present.

Please remember that staff supervision does not begin until 8:50 a.m., and students should not be dropped off prior to that time. When students arrive early and are unsupervised, it creates a serious safety concern. We want to ensure that every child is safe, supported, and accounted for from the moment they arrive on campus.

We understand that mornings can be busy and schedules are often tight. However, we appreciate your partnership in ensuring the safety of our arrival procedures for all students. Please plan your drop-off so that your child arrives no earlier than 8:50 a.m.

If you need before-school care, please contact our office for information about available options. Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our students safe. We truly appreciate your cooperation and commitment to our school community.

We’re excited to share that the Mobile Dentist will be visiting Walker-Winter Elementary November18-20 This program provides students with the opportunity to receive dental checkups and cleanings right here at school—making it easy and convenient for families.

Permission forms will be sent home soon with more details. If you’d like your child to participate, please be sure to complete and return the form by the due date.

Taking care of our smiles helps keep our students healthy and ready to learn!

We are excited to kick off our 2025 NFL Flag and Cheerleading season on Sept. 20 at John Glenn High School. Here are just a few friendly reminders as we gear up for this week:
Concessions: Will be available for purchase.
No Pets, Please: For everyone’s safety, please remember that pets aren’t allowed on the property.
Handicap Parking: Please be sure only vehicles with a handicap license plate or tag park in those designated spots. Police will be patrolling and issuing tickets.
Field Access: For the safety of our students, only coaches, district staff, NFL Flag staff, and players are allowed on the field.
