Welcome To Elliott Elementary
Mission Statement
The Elliott Community will strive to instill character values and hold high expectations. We are committed to being a place where kids love learning, become leaders, and prepare for life.
Greetings Elliott Families!
We had a great Kindergarten Kickstart with many new families as well as current families joining us as we welcomed future Elliott Eagles to the Elliott family. We had a great turn out of community partners including EMU Bright Futures, Champions Before & After School Care, Inkster-Westland Urgent Care, National Kidney Foundation with the PE-NUT program and our very own PTO. We even had a surprise visit from and Eagle to meet our future students.
As we move into our last week prior to Spring Break we several guest readers and activities planned for our students and Elliott community. We are looking to our Elliott families joining us on Wednesday, March 20th for our Family Book Bingo night from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
The PTO will have their next meeting at 3:45pm on Friday, March 22nd. Parents will enter the doors connected to our cafeteria which is located next to our parent parking and our 3rd/4th grade door entrance.
Lets have a great week.

Care Solace Article: Self-Harm Awareness Month
March is Self-Harm Awareness Month. If a student has been hurting themselves on purpose, the real hurt is inside. Self-harm is used to cope in the moment but can end up becoming a dangerous cycle. Here are some signs that your student is vulnerable and may be self-injuring:
Good Evening Wayne-Westland Families,
A solar eclipse will cross North America on Monday, April 8, 2024. Michigan is in the 95% eclipse zone, meaning that certain areas of the state will witness a near-total solar eclipse commencing around 2 p.m., with peak visibility expected after 3 p.m. We want to provide you with some important information about this celestial event and how it will impact our school day.
NOTE: Wayne-Westland Community Schools will have a full school day for all students on Monday, April 8, 2024. We will incorporate educational opportunities related to the solar eclipse into our curriculum to enhance our students' understanding of this phenomenon.

The Engineering Society of Detroit’s Boys in Engineering Academy (BEA) program is a transformative space that empowers primarily boys of color, historically marginalized in STEM fields, to live their best lives. BEA is unique as it focuses on the whole person by integrating STEM learning with a student-centered, hands-on, and project-based approach. BEA scholars are provided access to powerful STEM learning experiences that challenge them to think deeply and critically. As STEM learners, they are empowered to use STEM as a tool for personal and social change.
