This week, the mobile dentist will be at Schweitzer on Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your student has a permission slip filled out if you'd like your student to be seen by the dentist. The newsletter contains links for the book fair, to order a yearbook, and a food service survey that we'd appreciate you taking the time to complete.
Please remember to use our cross walks on Glenwood and in our school parking lot. To help keep everyone safe, refrain from walking between the busses on Glenwood, and drive slowly and cautiously through our school parking lot. Thank you!

Wayne-Westland Community Schools is hosting a 3v3 basketball tournament for grades 4-12 on May 11 at John Glenn High School!
- $25 per player
- Coed teams
- 4 players per team
- Half-court game format
- 3 game minimum
- Must be enrolled in Wayne-Westland Community Schools

At Schweitzer, we're celebrating March is Reading Month by sharing our reading successes! Celebrations can be big or small! (Ex., you and your child finished reading a chapter book together, read multiple books in one week or your child worked through a really tough word!)

On Friday, March 1st, we begin fun activities and spirit days for March is Reading Month! Our theme this year is Reading is a Reason to Celebrate! We are looking forward to celebrating reading with all of our students.
Have your student wear party gear on Friday, March 1st, to kick off our reading celebration! We also have popcorn for sale on Friday for .50 cents per bag, limit 2 bags per students.

NEWSLETTER: Schweitzer Elementary Stinger Scoop - February 25, 2024
Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some services they provide are:
- Basic need assistance
- Connection to over 700 local resources
- Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks / underwear, hats / gloves / scarves, etc.)
School supplies and backpacks year round for any WWCS student.

Our Food Service Team wanted to remind all parent and students that there are snacks for purchase during lunch!
- Snacks vary in price from $0.25 to $1.00 and can be purchased using cash or money on student accounts
- Student Accounts can be funded through PayschoolsCentral.com, please see: https://www.wwcsd.net/departments/human-resources/food-and-nutrition-services/ for more information on how to deposit
- Ice Cream will be sold on Fridays! Hershey Ice Cream Treats will be $1.00, and all options are smart snack approved
