2017 - 2018 School Year
Parking Permits
It's that time of year! It's cold outside! If you are driving for the winter months stip in the office and get the paperwork for a parking permit. The cost is $25.00 per year. If you have any questions see Mrs. Hayter in the main office. Remember you need a parking permit to park on school premises.
Fitness Center
The John Glenn fitness center will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. All John Glenn students are welcome to use the fitness center for an extra workout.
Tutoring
Free tutoring on select Thursday nights 5:30-7:30 during the school year. Student ID required!! It must be a current John Glenn ID. Students without the appropriate ID card will be turned away.
2017-18 JG Athletic News
This is a reminder for all students who want to participate in a John Glenn athletic team during the 2017-18 school year. Students and parents must complete the online athletic registration and turn in an athletic physical form before you will be allowed to tryout or practice with any team. The athletic registration information is available on the athletic website at johnglennrockets.com. Both student and parents must complete parts of the registration. Athletic physical forms are available in the main office and in the athletic registration tab of johnglennrockets.com. Completed forms must be turned in to the main office.
Testing Out
If you are interested in testing out please see your Counselor first to be approved. Once you are approved please see Mrs. Hayter in the main office.
Attention Clubs
Anti Bullying Club
We will be meeting on select Wednesdays from 2 – 3:00 in room 123. Come make JGHS a better place.
Art Club
Art club will be held every Thursday from 2-3pm in room 197. This year we will be working with paint, pencils, clay, tye-dye and much more. Come and release your creative side!
Comic Book Club
We have a new club here at John Glenn. The comic book club will meet on select Thursdays after school at 2:10 p.m. in room 112. Be sure to go to room 112 to take part in the best club ever. If you have any questions please see Mr. Henzi in room 112.
French Club
To enrich French students of the French language and culture, to allow other students and staff to gain an increased awareness of our French program. We meet every Monday 2:10 - 3:00 in room 129 (some days are longer due to longer activities).
Photography Club
To learn photography and enhance each person's perspective and photography skills. The club is open to all John Glenn students that are interested. The club meets every other Wednesday after school for one hour. If you have any questions please see Ms. Willman.
Seniors
Senior women, the Zonta club of Northern wayne County has established a $750 scholarship to empower women to obtain the education necessary to excell in the work place. See the counseling office for the web site to apply. June 30, 2018 is the deadline.
Representatives from several colleges and universities will be visiting JG throughout the next few months. This year we would like you to choose only 4 college rep visits to attend and to sign up through your counselor.
Mission
It is the primary mission of John Glenn High School staff, parents, and community to teach all students to become a successful ROCKET (Respectful, Organized, Cooperative, Knowledgeable, Enthusiastic, Trustworthy) learners.
