2022 WWCSD Virtual Academy Annual State Testing Information

Each spring schools in Michigan are required to administer the annual state assessments to all students in grades 3-11. This includes students enrolled in virtual programs. Please see the included letter to parents from the State Superintendent of schools.

To comply with the strict rules of administration for these tests, the Wayne-Westland Community Schools will use the following special schedule to administer these assessments.

***It is important to note that all of these assessments must be delivered in-person. There is no mechanism that allows for these tests to be delivered remotely.***

About Wayne-Westland Virtual Academy

Need an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schools this fall?

Kindergarten through 12th-grade students can enroll in Wayne-Westland Virtual Academy. All course offerings are supported by highly qualified, certified teachers with opportunities to participate in school activities.

Enrollment in the Wayne-Westland Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year is now open. 

The Wayne-Westland Virtual Academy is open to all Wayne County residents. Non-district families must complete the Intra-County School of Choice application.

District families, please complete the application below based on the student's grade in Fall 2021.

Q: When is the orientation?
 Students will receive an email invitation to the teacher's Google Classroom for the orientation session. Parents are encouraged to attend. 

Q: When is the first day of instruction?
A: Classes will begin the week of August 30, 2021. Students will follow a schedule.

Q: What are the start and dismissal times?
 Teachers will share the schedule the first week of school.

Q: How can I find my child's schedule?
 Student schedules are being finalized and will be available no later than the week of August 30, 2021. Schedules will be posted in MiStar ParentConnection.  

Q: My child needs a computer device. How can I obtain it?
 Students in need of a Chromebook and or WiFi hotspot can schedule a time to pick up the device from their assigned home school. If you need to know your student's assigned school, please call 734-713-4355 to obtain this information. 

Q: What if I want my child to return to in-person learning?
 Returning to in-person learning is limited to the first two weeks of the school year or at the end of the semester.  If you wish for your child to return to in-person learning, please complete the Return to In-Person Learning Form.
