Welcome Back, Walker-Winter Families!
We are thrilled to welcome our community back as we gear up for a fantastic school year! Our Open House will take place tomorrow from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, and we invite all families to join us for this exciting event. Our teachers and staff are eagerly looking forward to meeting their new students, and they have prepared wonderful presentations to help everyone feel at home in our beautifully organized school.
- Tuesday marks the first day of school, and it will be a half-day schedule. Student drop-off will begin promptly at 8:50 AM, with classes starting at 9:10 AM. Please note that dismissal for the day will occur at 12:20 PM.
- For Kindergarten families, we encourage you to walk your students to the main entrance in the morning and accompany them to the gym. There, Kindergarten students will gather as Ms. Snead and Ms. Mendal warmly welcome them. We suggest keeping goodbyes short to help everyone transition smoothly; our dedicated staff will provide support to any child who may need extra comfort during this time. We understand that the first day can be emotional, but most concerns are resolved quickly.
- For students in other grade levels, please use either the car loop or the west parking lot entrance for drop-off. If you choose to park in the west lot, kindly park your vehicle and walk your child to the entrance. We ask that all families bid farewell either at the door or from your vehicle to maintain a safe and secure environment for all our students.
- Wednesday and Thursday will consist of full school days, with arrival starting at 8:50 AM and dismissal at 4:00 PM.
- For those picking up students at the end of the school day, please refer to the attached dismissal map for a clear understanding of our procedures. Walker Dismissal Map.png
- Additionally, please be aware that there will be no school for all WWCS students on Friday, August 29, and Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.
