Our employees are one of the most valuable assets in providing a quality education for our students. Our Human Resources department is in charge of recruiting, hiring, and retaining highly qualified employees for all positions and departments in the Wayne-Westland Community School District. This department also offers continued support to all current district employees.

The district is staffed by 1,782 teachers, secretaries, paraprofessionals, custodians, and administrators, as well as employees in the areas of maintenance, transportation, and food services.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) enforces, among other statutes, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX states:
