Happy Thanksgiving to all our Hamilton families!! I am so grateful for you and that I get to be a part of this Hamilton family! Hopefully this long weekend was enough to rejuvenate you and your child to be ready for the next month before our winter break!

Monday 11/28 students will begin the indoor lineup. Please remember that doors still do not open until 8:55 when staff arrive. This is regardless of the weather. For the safety of students we cannot have them in the building before the staff reports and can supervise the students.

Once again this year we will host a Santa Shop where students can shop for gifts for their family to buy holiday gifts. The prices range from $1.50 to $15. Keeping in the spirit of giving we do not allow students to buy gifts for themselves during this time. To make this a great experience for our students we really need your help! If you are available to come and help students shop and run the shop, please click the link below to the Sign Up Genius to sign up. You can also send me a Dojo message if you would like to help out! A flier will come home next week with a money envelope and shopping list that you can send to your child's teacher for shopping day. Your child's teacher will let you know what day your child will go to the Santa Shop.

If your child is absent please call in daily to excuse their absence, or log into Parent Connect to record it there. If you have a Dr note excusing the absence please send that in to document the absence so it does not cause any issues with truancy. If your child has 10 or more absences without a doctor note, court papers or other official documentation they can be considered truant and you may be contacted by officials. Please make sure your child is at school unless they are too sick to attend. Lack of transportation, hair appointments, birthdays, vacations and visiting relatives are not acceptable excuses for absences. If you need help making a success plan for getting your child to school please contact me.
December 6th 1-7pm & 8th 1-4, 5-8 are our parent teacher conferences. If you have not signed up to meet with your child's teacher, please reach out to the teacher right away. The home school connection is critical in the success of your child! PTA will also have a book fair during conferences so you can stop in and get a Christmas gift or two!

Hamilton is proud to share that we now have a food pantry to support our students and families. Starting December 5th families can come to Hamilton on Mondays and Fridays from 9-11 am to collect food items. If you are not able to come to the school but need some food to get you through the week, call our office and Mrs Chris will get you in contact with our school social worker, Mr Wilson to send home some food supplies.

Please keep an eye on your child's class story on Dojo as the teachers are posting regularly to keep you informed about work that is being done in the classroom and other current events.

Please continue to check our district website for resources and information. Along with our Hamilton website, which includes the calendar for the upcoming school year.

You can also follow the Wayne-Westland Community School page on Facebook for updates and information too!

Thank you for your continued support!
Make it a great week!
M.M. :)
