Taft Elementary: Nancy Kelly - Occupational Therapist
Statement: Since I started in the district in 1996, I have always loved working with my amazing students. With the support of wonderful and expert teams of coworkers working together, I have been able to witness the growth and development of many students over the years. The fact that I have the opportunity in my role as an Occupational Therapist to use my creativity and professional judgment when extending support to students, families and coworkers, is important and truly gratifying.
Brandon Cox statement: Nancy is deserving of a GEM Award because of how amazing of a person and employee she is. Nancy truly cares about everyone she comes in contact with, especially our students. Nancy is extremely positive and extremely knowledgeable in her field of Occupational Therapy. Nancy is an outstanding human being and employee.
Franklin Middle School: Mrs. Tackett-Brader - Language Teacher
Statement: I enjoy working in WW because this is home to me! After spending my own childhood in WW schools, I wanted to come back and be that teacher that knew the population of students she was working with and be a positive role model for those who graced my classroom each year. I have taught in the district 23 years now and cannot imagine myself teaching anywhere else!
Deena Pringle statement: Mrs. Tackett dedicated extra time working with our students to prepare for the district spelling bee. As a result, one of our Franklin students, Nevaeh Zeeto won 1st place. Mrs. Tackett is currently working with Nevaeh to prepare for the regional spelling bee hosted by WJLB.
Innovative Academy: Martha Robertson - Clerical Paraprofessional
Statement: I really enjoy working with, and getting to know our students. They have so much potential. It's wonderful to be a small part of their success.

Statement: "What I love most about my job is the ability to help others in need. I really enjoy being able to provide whatever support is needed to our students, families and staff. I have a true passion for helping others in crisis, from students experiencing homelessness and in foster care placements, to supporting our students and staff during difficult situations. I truly love what I do, and I'm so grateful to work for Wayne-Westland Community Schools.”
Daryl Beebe statement: Amanda Dybus is one of the most caring, altruistic, dedicated, and hard-working individuals I know. She is determined to make a difference in this world and touches the lives of others daily. Amanda's invaluable contribution to our department and the Wayne Westland Community School District deserves special recognition. Her work with the Mental Health Task Force, Suicide Prevention Coalition, Crisis Prevention Team, Family Resource Centers, and Care Solace has been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally. She has positively impacted our school district students, staff, and community.
Walker-Winter January Winner - Zahara Alaboody, 4th Grade Teacher

I feel a sense of community working at Walker Winter. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to work with the most supportive teachers and get to positively impact our students. I love being a part of the Walker family.
