The Board of Education of Wayne-Westland Community Schools is seeking our next superintendent, with assistance from the Michigan Leadership Institute. Engaging members of our school community in this process is a priority for the Board, as your input will play a key role in shaping the selection of our next leader. We are offering two opportunities for you to contribute to this critical process. Your feedback is invaluable in ensuring that we identify a superintendent who will best meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.
Opportunity #1: Complete an Online Survey
Complete an online survey and share your thoughts on the qualities we should be looking for in our next superintendent. The survey will be open until Friday, December 5, at 4:30 p.m. Survey link: Superintendent Search Survey
Opportunity #2: Attend an Interactive Meeting We invite you to join us for an interactive meeting on Tuesday, December 2, where you can:
- Provide input to be used during the search for our next superintendent.
- Learn more about the search process.
- Ask questions and engage in conversation.
The Wayne-Westland Transportation Department is hosting its 14th Annual Stuff the Bus event on November 28 & 29 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Walmart on Canton Center & Michigan Avenue.
In partnership with Community Free Will Baptist Church (Cherry Hill & Venoy), we’re collecting new, unwrapped toys to help support families right here in our community.
Our bus will be parked and ready—let’s fill it up and make the holidays brighter for local children!
Dear Wayne-Westland Families,
Since I started here in July, I have been so impressed with all the wonderful opportunities Wayne-Westland students have. At times, however, I heard families say, “We never knew.” I can easily see how that can happen (to no one’s fault) as everyone is so busy and pulled in so many directions.
We would like to bring to your attention a phishing email that many students have recently received through their district email accounts. Unfortunately, some student accounts were compromised, and as a result, phishing emails have been circulating across the district.
We understand that many of our families may be impacted by the temporary shutdown of the SNAP program in November. Please know that Wayne-Westland Community Schools is here to support you during this time.
