It’s hard to believe we’re in the final stretch of the 2024-2025 school year! With just one month to go, our schools are full of enthusiasm as students prepare for important milestones, special events, and year-end celebrations.

*Section 105c schools of choice programs provide students with the option to enroll in a school district that is within another intermediate school district but shares a boundary line with their intermediate school district.
The Intra-County School of Choice window is March 2, 2026 through August 28, 2026.
All applicants MUST submit a two-year behavior report (grades 1-12), along with the Affirmation of Prior Discipline form filled out by parent/guardian and the previous school. All applicants MUST also submit their most recent report card (grades 6-8) or high school transcript (grades 9-12).
Families are responsible for transportation. For more information, call the Curriculum and Instruction office at 734-419-2083.

This edition's topic....snow days. In light of a very crazy January, I wanted to share my thoughts when making those decisions. The amount of snow is definitely a factor as well as when it will come (a large amount of snow at 4 am cannot be cleared prior to school starting).

As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of our schools. This time of year is a wonderful reminder of the strength of our community — a community that consistently comes together to support our students, staff, and one another.

The Board of Education of Wayne-Westland Community Schools is seeking our next superintendent, with assistance from the Michigan Leadership Institute. Engaging members of our school community in this process is a priority for the Board, as your input will play a key role in shaping the selection of our next leader. We are offering two opportunities for you to contribute to this critical process. Your feedback is invaluable in ensuring that we identify a superintendent who will best meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.
Opportunity #1: Complete an Online Survey
