Children's Grief Awareness Day was created to emphasize the unique struggles youth face when grieving and provide ways we can help support them through this challenging time. According to the New York Life Foundation, nearly 5 million youth under 18 will lose a parent or sibling.

Grief is a long journey; even when one may not feel ready, daily activities carry on. Since grief is long-lasting and affects everyone differently, those grieving may need advocates to stand by their side. Without a supportive advocate, grief can feel isolating and young people in particular, may feel misunderstood. If your family is experiencing grief, or you know someone who is, here are some helpful websites to give you insight into how you can continually support them as they adjust to life without their loved one.
