Stevenson January Winner - Tracey Cosgrove, Art Teacher

Tracey’s statement:

Wayne-Westland is definitely a community district. I enjoy the sense of community pride we bring to the table and share with our students. I love being able to pass on my passion for Art and all that it does for us. I am fascinated with what my students create when given the chance. It's a wonderful opportunity to be apart of this community and district.

Kimberly Doman/Principal statement:

Tracey Cosgrove is an exceptional educator. She is passionate about providing unique and cross curricular opportunities for learning for her students. She is frequently working to learn new techniques and skills by taking art and jewelry classes. She is also working with the department leaders of other core areas to support the goals within our school improvement plan. She is a leader within the building, serving as our building rep, our Department lead, and member of our School Improvement team. She serves as a member of our Data and Disproportionality team and frequently is reviewing our data with the intent to provide the best learning experience for not just the students in her classroom, but for the entire building as a whole. Tracey is also the lead member of the Sunshine Committee within Stevenson where the goal is to keep staff morale up and plan monthly events to hang out together and make new connections. Her dedication to her career and making a lasting impression on her students is admirable. We love having Tracey in our building. Our students are incredibly lucky.
