Hello William D. Ford Career-Technical Center Students, Families, and Staff,
The high quality opportunities that William D. Ford Career-Technical Center provides received recognition in February. Although Career Technical Education month is coming to a close, our work continues.
In March, as part of Wayne-Westland Community Schools' commitment to growing and developing career ready students, we will be welcoming many visitors to our building. Regional legislators, Wayne County Regional Educational Services Agency board members, and every 4th grade student that attends Wayne-Westland Community Schools will be among our honored guests. I am excited to share the great learning experiences that occur in this building every day with these groups.
I hope that the vacation week, although the weather brought many challenges, provided time for rest and relaxation.

Wayne-Westland Community Schools is hosting a 3v3 basketball tournament for grades 4-12 on May 11 at John Glenn High School!
- $25 per player
- Coed teams
- 4 players per team
- Half-court game format
- 3 game minimum
- Must be enrolled in Wayne-Westland Community Schools
I would like to share my thoughts on the positive impact of competition in our journey through career technical education. Although competition may seem intimidating, it presents an incredible opportunity for growth and learning here at Ford Tech.
Competing challenges us to go beyond our limits, think creatively, and continuously enhance our skills. It teaches us lessons in resilience, perseverance, and the significance of striving for excellence.
For students, participating in competitions is a chance to exhibit their talents, gain recognition, and build confidence in real-world settings. Parents, your support during these experiences is invaluable, encouraging a mindset of determination and a passion for success.
Let's welcome competition as a pathway to personal and professional development, working together to attain our goals and create a brighter future.

I have to say, I'm so impressed and proud of every single one of our Career Tech students. The dedication, hard work, and perseverance throughout this semester have been truly inspiring, and I know you'll continue to do great things in the weeks to come.
Remember to stay focused and motivated, and make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. Whether you're preparing for competitions, completing projects, or mastering new skills, every step you take brings you closer to your goals and aspirations.

Dear Career Tech Students and Families,
On April 8th, a total solar eclipse will occur over William D. Ford Career-Technical Center, causing the skies to darken and transform the day into night. According to scientists, the sun disappears during an eclipse because it aligns perfectly with the moon at the right angle and distance. Although there are very few things that are perfect in life, this scene may seem magical or ominous to many.
