Cafe Marquette
Dear Wayne-Westland Community Members,
William D. Ford Career-Technical Center appreciates the support of the Wayne-Westland community. Through partnerships, we have been able to build and sustain innovative learning experiences for our students.
In alignment with the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, all William D. Ford Career-Technical Center programs will be formally reviewed and revised. In this process, our teachers and program advisors will develop a curriculum that emphasizes local labor market needs and select nationally recognized postsecondary certification exams to assess students. This provides our students the opportunity to earn industry credentials at no cost.
In the 2022-2023 school year, the Culinary Arts program will begin this process. While we are very excited to elevate this program and to meet the future direction of the hospitality industry, there will be immediate and unavoidable changes. To enable us to focus on this work, Café Marquette is closed and the Baracy Banquet Center will not be able to provide restaurant and catering services for the foreseeable future. However, the Baracy Banquet Center space (not the kitchen) will still be available to reserve for your event. Upon request, the Ford Career-Technical Center will provide you a list of local businesses that offer catering services. You will be responsible for arranging the catering service, and be responsible for the costs associated with them. The career-tech center will provide your caterer with the list of guidelines for use of the banquet center.
If you have any questions, please contact William D. Ford Career-Technical Center at (734) 419- 2100. We look forward to welcoming you back with new opportunities for partnership and community engagement after we have completed the redesign.
With children in mind,
