Care Solace Article: Celebrating Our School Social Workers

Celebrate School Social Workers

Dear Wayne-Westland Community School District Community,

As we step into March, we are proud to celebrate School Social Work Week (March 1–7). During this special week, we recognize the tireless efforts of our school social workers who are vital links between students, families and the resources they need.

Our school social workers make a difference by:

  • Providing emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Connecting students and families to essential community resources.
  • Advocating for student well-being within the educational system.

The work school social workers do often happens quietly, but its impact is deeply felt. By listening, guiding, and supporting students and families through complex situations, they help create school communities where students feel seen, supported, and able to thrive.
