Show Up for Success with 8 Absences or Less

Our Students Need Us. Our Community Can Help.

Right now, more than 50% of students in Wayne-Westland Community Schools are chronically absent, meaning they miss more than 10% of the school year.

We can change that—together.

Aim for 8 is our district-wide call to action to help students miss no more than 8 days of school each year. Every day a student is in school matters. Every lesson, every relationship, every opportunity to learn and grow begins with showing up.

This challenge belongs to all of us. Families, educators, businesses, community organizations, faith leaders, and neighbors each have a role to play in helping students attend school consistently and successfully.

Imagine the impact if every student knew their community was cheering them on. Imagine the opportunities created when more students are present, engaged, and learning every day.

Join the Movement.

Encourage attendance. Celebrate showing up. Support students and families.

Together, we can reduce chronic absenteeism, strengthen our schools, and build a brighter future for every child.
