Communications Methods
- Mass Notification- The district uses InTouch automated notification system. To ensure you receive timely updates via email, text and phone calls from the district, verify and update your contact information in the ParentConnect Portal using your PIN and password.
- District website- Updates and essential information be posted on our district website. The website serves as a centralized hub for communication.
- Social media- Updates and important information will also be posted on our district social media platforms. You can stay connected with us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube.
- The Wayne-Westland Wrap-Up- A digital newsletter is emailed to all families every other week.
- Superintendent Letters- Letters on pertinent topics are emailed as necessary.
- School Newsletters- School principals email school-specific newsletters to families.
In addition to district-wide communications, our school administrators will contact families with school-specific messages. These messages will be delivered via email, robocalls, Class Dojo, social media posts, and newsletters.

With less than two months left in the school year, our students are still learning, growing, and thriving. As our high school seniors prepare to conclude their K-12 experience with cherished traditions and celebrations, we look forward to welcoming a new group of Young 5s and kindergarten students next fall. Spring marks a significant and memorable time in our school district.
Wayne-Westland Community Schools is hosting informational sessions to share resources with families of students with special needs. The session is open to the entire community. Please join us on April 17 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Mary Browe Senior Center, 36745 Marquette, Westland, MI 48185. Bridget Green, Clinical Director at Nora Mental Health and Midwest Wellness will speak on menthal health support for parents and caregivers who support people with special needs. With eight weeks left in the school year, students continue to learn, grow, and thrive. Students and staff are also gearing up for the year's culmination with celebrations and cherished traditions. This week has been particularly eventful, with state testing and the educational opportunity presented by the rare Solar Eclipse.
With collaboration from other departments, our Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department has spearheaded significant improvements across nearly every academic subject area. We have seen growth in our students. One crucial tool guiding these enhancements is the series of state and national tests that commenced last week. Each assessment measures the knowledge and skills our students learn in school.
