Dear Wayne-Westland Families,

Letter to Wayne-Westland Families

We understand that many of our families may be impacted by the temporary shutdown of the SNAP program in November. Please know that Wayne-Westland Community Schools is here to support you during this time.

Our district is proud to offer free breakfast and lunch to every student, every school day—no forms or qualifications required. We encourage all families to make sure their children take advantage of these nutritious meals.

In addition, afterschool meals are offered to students participating in afterschool enrichment programs.

  • If your family needs additional food assistance, our Family Resource Center can connect you with community resources and local support programs. Please contact our Family Resource Center at (734) 419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net.

  • For food assistance resources near you, please visit Gleaners Mobile Food Distribution at www.gcfb.org or pantrynet.org for locations and dates.

  • Care Solace is available 24/7 and 365 days a year. They can help families locate food, housing, medical, dental and mental health resources. Contact them at 888-515-0595. They also have multilingual support.

We are committed to caring for every child and every family in our community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—help is here when you need it.

Sincerely,

Catherine Cost, Ed.D.

Interim Superintendent
