Aim for 8 Attendance Campaign
Every school day matters! This year, Wayne-Westland Community Schools is launching the Aim for 8 Attendance Campaign to encourage students and families to prioritize regular attendance.
Our goal is simple: Aim for 8 or fewer absences during the school year.
When students are in school every day, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in activities and stay on track for success. Even a few missed days can add up and make a difference.
Did You Know? - Preparing for the First Day of School
The 2026–27 school year is here, and we’re excited to welcome our students, families, and staff back for another great year of learning, growing, and making memories together. In this edition of our Did You Know? series, we’re kicking off the new school year with a very special guest — Madden, our district facility dog! Madden is ready to help us celebrate the start of another school year and remind everyone that Great Futures Start Right Here!

Care Solace Article : Back-to-School Transition Toolkit
Dear Parents and Guardians of the Wayne-Westland Community School District Community,
As the new school year begins, supporting our youth's mental health is more important than ever. The new school year can bring feelings of both anxiety and excitement as students transition into a new grade or perhaps even a new school.
