PURPOSE: To provide a location for students artists to show their work, get criticism from a community of other students artists; expand their knowledge of art and work to express their creativity.

MEMBER: The club will be open to all students who are interested in art any time during the school year.

MEETINGS: Every Thursday from 2 - 3 in room 197.
SPONSOR: Mrs. Cole


PURPOSE: Raise awareness of bullying at JG and bring students together to make JG a better place!

MEMBER: Available to all students at John Glenn.

MEETINGS: Every other Wednesday from 2 - 3 in room 123.

SPONSOR: Mr. Cooper


PURPOSE: Each grade level offers a variety of activities and service opportunities to students. Students work with their peers to raise money for prom, events and charities. Many other social events are also scheduled.

MEMBERSHIP: Class officers are elected in the spring(incoming freshman class elections in the fall). All JG students are encouraged to participate in class activities especially homecoming events.

MEETINGS: All class meetings are held after school.

PURPOSE: DECA prepares students to be leaders in the business world. Students network in their chosen field, learn good communication skills, compete, attend workshops, travel & become good leaders.

MEMBERSHIP: All Students in a business class.

MEETINGS: 1x a month after school.

SPONSOR: Mrs. Beth Johnson


PURPOSE: To enrich French students understanding of the French language & culture. To allow other students & staff to gain an increased awareness of our French program.

MEMBERSHIP: All students must currently be in a French class or have taken one in the past.

MEETINGS: Every Monday from 2 - 3 p.m. (some days are longer due to longer activities).

SPONSOR: Mrs. Manohar


PURPOSE: Prepare students to become teachers.

MEMBERSHIP: Open to all JG students. No minimum/maximum size of the club.

MEETINGS: Every other Wednesday in room 229 from 2 - 3pm.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this club is to encourage environment, friendly habits, make Glenn property cleaner & to make school more colorful & welcoming.
(perhaps plant a garden)

MEMBERSHIP: All of JG students. You must attend 3 consecutive meetings 

MEETINGS: Every other Tuesday from 2:00 - 2:30 in Mrs. Jodi Johnson’s room, room 145.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the club is to advance each individual’s understanding of the
Japanese language, ultimately aiding the passionate learner to take their passion further. This will increase student’s desire to learn new things, ultimately motivating students to achieve higher scores & making the school a better environment.

MEMBERSHIP: You must have a 2.3 GPA or higher. You must stay on task, be responsible
and respectful.

MEETING: Every Wednesday from 2:00 ~ 3:00

SPONSOR: Mrs. Mazaris & Mr. Hurick


PURPOSE: NHS recognizes the important qualities of character, scholarship, services, and leadership in the student body. Students put skills into action through school and community services.

MEMBERSHIP: NHS membership is based on recommendations from teachers using the
criteria of academic performance (min. 3.7 GPA), attendance, behavior, school and community involvement. Induction occurs in November or December. This club is only available to Junior & Senior students.

MEETINGS: After school

PURPOSE: SADD are committed to activities which provide awareness of alcohol & substance abuse as well as prevention & support.

MEMBERSHIP: Open to all interested students any time of the year.

MEETINGS: After school on various days

SPONSOR: Mrs. Grimm


PURPOSE: Participants learn to be democratic leaders by doing. This is an activity-oriented group which promotes school, students & community service.

MEMBERSHIP: Sophomore, Junior and Senior Council members are elected by the student body in the spring of each year. Freshman are elected in the fall.

MEETINGS: Every other Thursday during selected class period. Committee meetings are after school.

SPONSOR: Mr. Loomis


PURPOSE: To Introduce the art and sport of modern dance, jazz & baton twirling.  Encouraging physical fitness, theatrical & creative minds. Create new friendships & encourage poise.

MEMBERSHIP: Girls of all ages at JGHS. Must have a 2.0 GPA or better. Must be willing to
learn & have a positive attitude! Minimum 10 - 12 girls & maximum 16 - 20 depending on

MEETINGS: Meetings will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 pm in the east side of the cafeteria. Possible performances at basketball games, parades & All-star dance competition.
