We hope you are having a terrific and restful weekend. As we wrap up the last few weeks of 2023, we continue to ensure that safety and learning remain our top priority at Adams. We appreciate your support in speaking to your student about some important expectations at Adams Middle School.
Hoods are not allowed to be worn in school. Please remind your student of this expectation. Wearing a hood may obscure a person's face and identity, which could compromise the safety of our school community.
In addition, fast food should not be dropped off or delivered to our students. Delivery services such as DoorDash and GrubHub will not be permitted. This violates our contract with our food provider. Please do not bring your child fast food during the school day. Remember, all students can receive a free hot breakfast and lunch daily.
We really appreciate your support as you speak to your child about these important expectations. It truly takes a village, and we are proud to have you as a part of the Adams Family!
We hope you had a Happy Holiday and could find time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We look forward to the coming week. We have two home basketball games this week. We want to ensure that all our parents and students know the expectations when attending an event as a spectator.
All students that are eligible to attend athletic events (4 or less tardies in a week and no suspensions) MUST have their student ID to attend home events at Adams. There are no exceptions. Students must be picked up after the game. Students who do not get picked up on time (15 mins or less) will not be permitted to attend future home games.
There is no re-entry into an event.
High School students can only attend Middle School games with a parent/guardian. High School students MUST have WM or JG student ID.
Stronger and Better Together!
As the Executive Director of our Wayne-Westland Middle Schools, I was able to witness the transformation and collective efficacy of Adams Middle School under the recent leadership team. Safety, responsibility, learning, and teaching was prioritized and nurtured and our students, staff, and community saw the results of a new beginning. Mr. O’Leary’s departure has left many wondering, “what next”? Will the next leader continue this valuable work and ensure Adams continues to grow, thrive, and excel? The answer is ABSOLUTELY!
We will not settle for anything less than the best for our Adams Middle School Community. We will continue to build the best administrative team possible. I will have the privilege of continuing the work our Adams students, staff, and community have begun as the interim principal at Adams MS. I have worked with the administrative team as their coach and supervisor, so I have been involved in this work every step of the way. I will remain committed and diligent in providing the consistency and stability that our Adams students and community deserve.
I truly look forward to working alongside our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bukosky, our staff, and our “village” of family, friends, and community to ensure we have a safe, engaging, and successful school year. Go Eagles!
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” -Helen Keller.
Sincerely,
Sheri Grove
Interim Principal
Adams Middle School
Winter is coming soon!
Many of our students walk to school or remain outside while waiting to be picked up at the beginning and end of the day. Please get in touch with the school or the Family Resource Center if you need winter gloves or hats.
The students did a great job with Halloween and Spirit Week this week. We had a 'Pink Out', wear red for Red Ribbon Week, Twin Day, PJ Day, and College Shirt Day. Please take a look at the pictures below.

This week, we will host our second Student Town Hall meeting. These meetings allow us to have more personalized discussions with the students. Many of the topics are student-driven concerns or ideas. Furthermore, we will recognize several students for their positive behavior and monthly perfect attendance. Be on the lookout for pictures in next week's issue of the Community Smore.
